Clasheen by Nicola Brown has given me a blogging friends forever award. I am so blessed by it, I have no words to express how much.
Nicola is an amazing feltmaker and brilliant blogger. I am always very excited when she has written a new post as they are wonderful little glimpses into her life and work. What makes her blog stand out for me is the combination of pictures and writing (I am a very visual creature).
Nicola is great at telling you about things she has coming up and things she has done, then remembers to give you updates and more often than not – pictures. I love it and I know you will too.
The rules for this award are that you …
- link back to the person who gave you this award
- give this award to four dedicated followers of your blog
- present it to one person who is new to your blog and lives on the other side of the world
The people I would like to give this award to are red 2 white, Caroline Inkle,
My Baboo and Malam.
I have lost my camera. I don’t know how I did it.
But it is gone.
And now I am lost. Completely lost.
There is a great camera on my phone and it is the same pixels, but its not the same.
I have wanted a DSLR for a long time and was promised one for my birthday, so now I will have to get one. It is a shame as my little digi was super handy and stood up to all sorts.
No point crying over it……but I just keep looking, again and again in places I know I’ve already looked.
I am posting a picture taken with my phone just to see what it is like
So I am off to the studio. It feels like years since I was there.
I have a large hanging to finish ASAP. So today is the day.
To be honest I am writing this so I have to do it. Lately everything has got in the way and today is my switch day.
It feels GREAT.
Its late and so I can’t write much, but I am so so excited I had to write.
Monika at red2white ran a blog competition . It was such a great idea, I loved reading everyones colour choices and couldn’t wait to see what colour it would be dyed and turn out. I really enjoyed taking part and can’t believe my luck as I won.
It is a beautiful piece of work as you will see on her blog. I can’t wait to see it in the felt.
If you remember last Thursday I was of f to view the ‘trend book’ at HIE. I was really excited and couldn’t wait to pour over the pages of fabric and colours predicted for next winter. 2009/10.
You can imagine how I felt when I was then called in to work at the shop. It is very hard at my part-time work just now and so I really shouldn’t moan, but it is supposed to be just that…… part-time. And at £6.18 p/h it is not really worth more than that.
But thank fully there is an amazing woman at the shop and she held fort while I dashed up. It wasn’t the relaxed grazing I had planned, no sketching or lengthy note taking. But I did get there and I took a lot of photo copies. Colour not great. I also got brilliant little samples of the colours so it doesn’t matter to much about the photo copies.
I would love to post some of it here. But I think I would be in huge trouble. But should any one wish to look over my stash it will be at my studio. Just email me.
What I can tell you…..
Embellishment is big. embroidery and ‘crafty’ details are big. cable knit is literally big- huge chunky cable. fine layers with chunky knits. sheer fabrics with tiny textures and folds. did I say layers – layers layers layers.
Two main things going on in materials- natural as possible or technically advanced.
It was yummy.
I was very grateful to HIE & Gillian for allowing us FREE access to the book. There is another viewing and presentation at the beginning of next year.
I am a bebo-er, if that is what you call it. I love sharing photos and catching up with distant friends. But it nearly killed my laptop this week.
I got pfished.
No, there was no spicy rum involved and not a rod or fly to be seen. First I received an exciting invite from one of my friends to ‘click here to see me in costume’ . Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good fancy dress and so I was hooked.
I clicked which took me to a you tube link. Nothing at all untoward about that and so I clicked again. Not much happened and so I mumbled a little and thought it was a poor link.
My computer slowly stopped responding and I realised I had a problem. Then other people started to post messages warning about these Bebo messages.
argh. it was a worm.
Thankfully I managed to use my anti-virus and get it out. whew.
We went trick or treating. Here are my kids dressed up
